Stonehill Taylor-designed Conrad Hotel is a finalist of the SBID Awards
Another distinguished project for which Loloey provided carpets and rugs.
New York-based design studio Stonehill Taylor chose Loloey for the carpets of the corridor, meeting rooms, penthouses, suites, public areas of the Conrad New York Midtown hotel.
The project was recently a finalist in the Hotel Bedroom & Suites Design category of the prestigious SBID Awards in London, which are organized by the The Society of British & International Interior Design, the professional body registered in the UK to regulate and promote the interior design profession.
Stonehill Taylor turned the property, previously known as The London New York, into a new luxury destination through their vision for its interior design. The hotel exudes calm and elegance, reminiscent of the upscale Midtown residence of a contemporary art collector. The sleek, modern décor aims to achieve a timeless feel.
The emphasis on art can be seen throughout the property, which features conceptual and modern paintings, including artworks by Juan Miró, Alexander Calder and Françoise Gilot. This concept is reflected in the design of the area rugs too, recalling the brush and watercolor strokes of the paintings, tracing abstract shades and patterns.
Read an interview with Stonehill Taylor Interiors Associate Bethany Gale on the SBID website, in which she gives fascinating insight into the creative process.
